Claudio Castiglioni (right) and his brother Giovanni are back in charge of MV Agusta.Claudio Castiglioni (right) and his brother Giovanni are back in charge of MV Agusta.

"MV Agusta is the crown jewel of Italian motorcycles, I am thrilled to have completed this transaction." No wonder Claudio Castiglioni is thrilled. Two years after selling MV Agusta to Harley-Davidson for 70 million euros, they pay him 20 million euros to take it back. Castiglioni immediately promises new models and a bright future for the iconic brands, but MV Agusta's Castiglioni years suggests we should expect more cunning business deals than actual motorcycle manufacturing.

2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R

2011 Kawasaki ZX-10RThe first photo of the 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R, unpainted and in race trim, ready for testing at Suzuka. Two numbers from Kawasaki: 190bhp, 198kg. Big numbers indeed, compare them to 188bhp and 179kg (dry) of the 2010 model or to the 193bhp and 204kg (wet) of the current king of the superbike hill, the BMW S1000RR.

Assuming that the 2011 ZX-10R's 198kg quoted weight is wet, that compares well to the S1000RR, even if the power's till not quite capable of matching the F1 valve technology of the Bimmer. The problem is, there's no word as to which bike that weight applies to; this carbon and no headlights race bike or a full-equipped road bike? Kawasaki plans to test the new Ninja at Suzuka later this week, expect more official images and info to "leak" then.

Player 1, Kawasaki: "This design is an expression of its cutting-edge innovation and beauty."

Player 2, Chris Vermeulen: "The bike looks pretty trick. It's completely different and looks pretty special."

Player 3, Wes Siler: "All we're really seeing here is some folded-paper plastic on top of a distinctly conventional motorcycle."

Wrenchmonkees Kawasaki Zephyr 750Denmark is not just about their Danish pastries and heritage of Viking warriors, there is much more to it and you know that. To add another feather, they now have a very talented custom bike team by the name of WM. WM; short for Wrench Monkees has been on probably everyone's radar for some time now with their naked café racer customized bikes as evident from their features on various magazines, websites and blogs.

What WM had done to the Zephyer 750 is give the bike an enhanced look to stand out anywhere. The frame is standard, the engine is untouched. The front fork, swingarm and rims are standard. So what have they done actually? The all over paint including the painted engine covers, all the wirings, the megatron muffler are made in house. Also the rear end, that beautiful seat and of course the beautiful front fender and then the rear light are all designed by Wrench Monkees. They haven't mentioned about the handle bars but looks to be customized. I really like the red grips, it is reflecting beautifully against the glossy black paint scheme of the bike. The #14 probably refers to the series of make as they number each bike they have customized.
